APPTA recognises that research is an integral part of creating a professional body of knowledge and to ensure sound evidence to guide Play Therapy practice and theory development.
All members completing research are required to adhere to the guidelines outlined by the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research.
Researchers must have ethical approval or exemption from an appropriate Ethics committee (Human Ethics Advisory Group – HEAG, Human Research Ethic Committee – HREC and/or Animal Ethics Committee – AEC).
The website Evidence-Based Child Therapy is an excellent resource for evidence based information on Play Therapy.
