APPTA offers professional development opportunities throughout the year including webinars with international and national speakers providing a series of one-hour presentations. Other training opportunities are offered on an ad hoc basis throughout the year. APPTA members always receive a discounted rate.

APPTA coordinates one major event each year: the biennial conference or the speaking tour. The speaking tour, includes an internationally recognised keynote speaker to provide comprehensive knowledge of a particular field or topic. The alternate year heralds the biennial conference, where we encourage Play Therapy clinicians, educators, and / or researchers to present papers or posters to showcase the growing body of knowledge and practice.

Play Therapy Day is celebrated on the 1st of July each year.

Play therapy day aims to raise public awareness and promote community access and links to local and regional Play Therapy service providers.

Members are supported to promote Play Therapy in their area and may contact
